The Avalanche Foundation has rolled out a massive $40 million grant to supercharge developers building Layer-1 (L1) blockchains on its network. On September 26, they announced the launch of “Retro9000,” a retroactive grant program tied to their groundbreaking “Avalanche9000” upgrade.
This upgrade promises to make building L1 blockchains easier and more cost-effective, positioning the network closer to its original vision.
The Avalanche team emphasized that this upgrade is the largest in its history, underscoring their long-term commitment to innovation. Their goal with Retro9000? To create a strong pipeline of developers who can leverage cutting-edge tech solutions to bring their products to the masses.
Empowering Developers with Retro9000
Retro9000 isn’t just about funding; it’s about fostering community-driven development. The program rewards developers building L1 chains and crucial tooling on the Avalanche9000 testnet.
Participants will compete on a public leaderboard, with community votes playing a pivotal role in the distribution of grants.
