“In the Web2 world, data centers are tiered to show trust levels, but Web3 needs a fresh approach that keeps decentralization at its core.”
In a recent X post, co-founder and CEO Prashant Maurya announced that Spheron has released a seven-tier system designed to increase trust and ensure compliance within their decentralized GPU marketplace.
The initial tiers of this system function as a trial period, where providers demonstrate their commitment to uptime, data security, and overall integrity.
Here’s the innovative part: Slark nodes, powered by the community, are in charge. These nodes set and verify challenges for providers. Successfully completing these challenges enables providers to progress through the tiers, eliminating the need for third-party verification.
End-users can benefit from this system by checking trust scores and selecting the most reliable providers, ensuring access to top-notch services. The system inherently rewards responsible behavior and removes untrustworthy actors, fostering a robust and dependable compute network.
According to Maurya, introducing these seven tiers will accelerate the widespread adoption of decentralized infrastructure with the core principles of reliability, security, and transparency.
Recent Developments
Spheron Network says a recent AI boom has caused a shortage, making it hard for small businesses and developers to compete with big companies that can afford expensive GPUs.
Their solution? A network where people can share their unused GPU power for money, powered by a special digital token called $SPHN.
Imagine a big online marketplace for GPUs, but instead of just buying them, you can also rent them out from other people when you don’t need them. This way, everyone can access powerful GPUs without having to buy their own expensive ones.
The $SPHN token is what makes this whole system work. People who rent out their GPUs have to use $SPHN as a kind of guarantee, like a deposit. This ensures they’ll provide good service because they don’t want to lose their tokens.
Moreover, Spheron rewards people who offer reliable GPUs with more tokens.
